The Atlanta Experience: Shareholder Retreat 2023 Recap

In October, our shareholders stepped away from the office to enjoy a refreshing dose of camaraderie and strategic planning with the future in focus at our annual Shareholder Retreat in the vibrant city of Atlanta! The timing couldn't have been better, as the crisp autumn air welcomed our team and served as the perfect transition into fall. Over four days, our shareholder group engaged in meaningful conversations and generated innovative ideas that will shape the future of our firm.

The retreat kicked off with a King Historic District walking tour through Sweet Auburn, allowing our group to explore the rich history of the city on foot. Immersing ourselves in the inspiring stories of Martin Luther King Jr., we gained a deeper understanding of the cultural fabric that makes Atlanta unique. Ponce City Market became the next stop, offering a delightful array of food and drinks for our shareholders to enjoy. We all know the group can’t resist a little friendly competition, so challenges were accepted from mini-golf to ski-ball, all while breathtaking views of the city created an incredible backdrop for fun, laughter and many new memories.

A highlight of the retreat was undoubtedly the team-building activity at the Center for Puppetry Arts. The group unleashed their creative spirits by crafting unique "Saltmartian" puppets, each representing a personal reflection of our firm’s 33 fundamentals. They embraced the opportunity to connect through the whimsical world of puppetry! As the retreat drew to a close, the team gathered at The Optimist to indulge in a delightful culinary experience and celebrate the upcoming retirements of two of their own, shareholders Charles Gund and Paul Allen.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to our new friends at Unexpected Atlanta Tours and the Center for Puppetry Arts for curating educational and creative programming that added immense value to our team-building experience.

This Shareholder Retreat not only strengthened our professional bonds but also left us with cherished memories that will resonate in our hearts and minds for years to come!
