Skilled Nursing Providers: Review Your CMS SNF Provider Preview Reports by November 14, 2024

11/1/2024 - By Kelly Smith, PhD, CPHQ, CLSSBB

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has released the latest Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Provider Preview Reports for the Post-Acute Care Quality Reporting Program (QRP). As a skilled nursing provider, this is your opportunity to review your facility’s quality data before it goes public on Care Compare during the January 2025 refresh. This preview period allows facilities to verify the accuracy of their quality metrics and to identify any potential discrepancies. Accurate, positive performance metrics can strengthen your reputation, while any inconsistencies could lead to misrepresentations on Care Compare.

Steps for Reviewing Your Report

  1. Access Your Report: Log into the CMS Quality Improvement and Evaluation System (QIES) or the iQIES portal to access your facility's preview report.
  2. Examine Quality Measures: Focus on each quality measure, ensuring they accurately reflect your performance.
  3. Identify Discrepancies: Should you find any inconsistencies or inaccuracies, gather supporting documentation that validates your data.

Please note that any assessment updates that were made after the final data submission deadline will only be reflected in the Facility-Level Quality Measure (QM) report and Patient-Level QM report. The deadline to review your report is November 14, 2024. For questions related to accessing your facility’s Provider Preview Report, please contact the iQIES Service Center by email at iqies@cms.hhs.gov or call 1-800-339-9313.
