Florida Providers have had a tumultuous beginning to October, and our hearts are with the providers, residents, and patients dealing with the impacts of Hurricane Ian.
As a reminder, Florida’s new $15/hour minimum wage requirement for providers participating in the Medicaid program went into effect on October 1, 2022. The new Florida Medicaid Fee-For-Service Schedules reflecting the increases related to the mandatory $15/hour minimum wage have been published and are available on AHCA’s website.
Providers should keep in mind that the rate schedules for Federally Qualified Health Centers, Rural Health Clinics, and Nursing Homes became effective on October 1, 2022, while all other impacted rate schedules will be retroactive to July 1, 2022.
Providers who participate in the Medicaid program should make sure they have completed the supplemental wage agreement that can be found in the Medicaid provider portal. Providers should also be monitoring their Medicaid Managed Care contracts to ensure that the managed care payors have adjusted their rates to reflect the new minimum wage requirement. All managed care plans are required to provide AHCA with an attestation by January 1, 2023, that they have amended each provider’s contract reimbursement rates to comply with the new minimum wage requirements.
If you have any questions about the new Medicaid minimum wage requirement or the new rate schedules please don’t hesitate to reach out to one of the Saltmarsh team members.
