Our Bank Advisors proudly hosted their inaugural Community Bank Events in Nashville, Tennessee on November 5th. The events consisted of a Compliance Funnel and Executive Form designed to cover timely topics in strategic management, technology, and regulatory compliance. This year’s lineup included FinTech, private flood insurance, cybersecurity, and an industry update by the Tennessee Bankers Association.
The day kicked-off with a Compliance Funnel led by financial institution shareholder, Connie Edwards, CRCM. Connie shared an in-depth presentation on fair lending followed by hot topics in HMDA. Heather Howell Wright, of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP updated the group on the mandatory acceptance of private flood insurance and its impact on the community banking landscape. Shareholder Kristen Stogniew, Esq., CFE concluded with current issues, trends and compliance concerns related to FinTech and new technologies geared toward enhancing the customer experience and other operating efficiencies.
The Executive Forum featured a banking industry update by the Tennessee Bankers Association’s Executive Vice President and General Counsel, Amy Heaslet, followed by a brief CFPB update by Clint Gwin, who serves as a member of the CFPB’s Consumer Advisory Board. The Forum also covered emerging issues related to cybersecurity and business email compromise in a joint presentation by IT shareholder, Stephen Reyes, CISA, CISSP, and financial institution technology consultant Jason Keith, CIA, CISA. They dove into the ever-evolving dark web and current threats that could put your business and private information at risk. Our event closed with the dynamic duo, shareholder Paul Allen, CPA, and Tennessee banking veteran Wynne E. Baker, CPA, CBA, CFSA, CFF, who provided insight into the strategic management issues of ALCO, IRR, Liquidity, and CECL.
Thank you to all who joined us for these informative sessions! We enjoyed the time learning and connecting with our friends in Tennessee and look forward to holding more educational seminars in the area going forward.
