The Client Accounting & Advisory Services (CAAS) Manager is given a wide variety of assignments under the supervision of a Shareholder. This position is responsible for oversight of CAAS staff as well as performing CAAS services for clients.  We rely on the latest technology and accounting processes to drive efficiency and deliver value to our clients. It is essential for the CAAS Manager to be inquisitive about new technology and willing to challenge the status quo to ensure we continue providing value-added information and services in the most cost effective ways possible. Performance is judged based on the quality of work, quantity of work, compliance with regulatory requirements, ability to meet time constraints, and supervision with the CAAS staff. 


Responsibilities: 

  • Ensuring that staff are appropriately assigned, review work of preparer for quality, and ensure meeting all client deadlines.
  • Understand client needs and assist with the development of an appropriate solution inclusive of process, technology, and client information needs.
  • Onboarding new clients and working on new client assessment needs. 
  • Help design processes within the department and evaluate / test new software applications.  Continually evaluate these processes and technologies so services evolve to maximize client value and remain efficient.
  • Billing responsibilities including normal monthly billing and upcharges for additional services. 
  • Performs data processing for clients including posting transactions and/or journal entries, reconciling bank statements and reconciling credit card data.
  • Assist the client with financial analysis of data to identify trends, areas of concern, and/or formulate go-forward plans to address a wide variety of financial scenarios. 
  • Develops a continued knowledge of various software programs.
  • Remain inquisitive as technology evolves and explore new solutions where appropriate.
  • Responds to federal and state tax notices on behalf of clients.
  • Processes payroll tax reports/sales tax reports for clients.
  • Responds to client requests and assists clients when necessary.
  • Train staff as appropriate. 
  • Performs related work as required.
  • Overtime work may be required during peak months.
  • Occasional same day travel for work at client’s offices using a personal vehicle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • Minimum 4 years’ of responsible accounting or bookkeeping experience related to a computerized accounting system, including A/P, A/R, Payroll, and General Ledger through Trial Balance.
  • Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism.
  • Proficiency with computer, spreadsheet software program, and calculator.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements of processing payroll accounting transactions and payroll returns/sales tax returns.
  • Strong verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain client confidentiality.
